VBS - FAQS
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
All volunteers age 18 and older are required to complete a Live Scan background check. This MUST be complete by May 31st to serve at VBS. St.Matthew will provide Live Scan background checks at the church in early May.

VOLUNTEER DISCOUNTS
We offer a discount for our volunteer’s children.
YOUTH VOLUNTEERS
Youth Volunteers MUST be 13 years or older at the time of camp to serve, OR serve alongside a parent/guardian.
Youth volunteers will NOT receive the camp discount.
partial participation
If your child can only attend a few days of camp, we would still love to have them. However, there is no discount for attending part of the week.

If you need financial assistance, please email jcasey@stmatthewrocklin.com and we will be happy to talk with you about available options.
REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS
Should you need to cancel your registration, you may choose to get a full refund or donate it to the scholarship fund, please email jcasey@stmatthewrocklin.com for a refund or to donate to the scholarship fund.
MISTAKE ON REGISTRATION
If you find a mistake in your registration, please email jcasey@stmatthewrocklin.com and we will be happy to fix it for you. Do not register again, as this may charge you a second time.
SPECIAL NEEDS
If your child has special needs and requires accommodations to participate, we would love to have them join us! Please get in touch with us at jcasey@stmatthewrocklin.com to discuss your child’s individual needs.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Our St. Matthew media team will be taking pictures during the week. If you do NOT want your camper(s) in any photos/videos, please mark the correct box during registration.
ALLERGIES
If your child has an epi-pen, please give it to their team leader. Our qualified First Aid team will be notified if there is a need to administer.
If your child has food allergies, please bring an alternative, non-perishable snack labeled with their name and give it directly to their team leader upon arrival.
Please list all allergies on the registration form.
CAMPER PICK-UP
Someone else may pick up your child only if they have the correct security code (physical card or photo's of the card are acceptable). If you lose your security code, please let us know, and we will give you a new one.
WHAT TO WEAR - CAMPERS
Children must wear their Camp shirts every day for security purposes. Children will receive their shirts on the first day of camp.
Please have your child wear water-friendly shorts and shoes.
Swimsuits may be worn under the camp shirts, however shorts and tops must be on campers AT ALL TIMES.
WHAT TO WEAR - VOLUNTEERS
Volunteer camp shirts must be worn daily.
The camp shirt should not be altered (cropped, cut, etc.)
Shorts are to be a modest length.
Comfortable, closed-toed shoes are recommended.
Please bring a labeled beach towel for your child.
DAY OF CAMP
Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
Take your child to the restroom before check-in.
Volunteers and children must wear their Camp shirts daily for security. Children will receive their shirts on the first day of camp.
Please have your child wear water-friendly shorts and shoes.
To pick up your child after camp, you must present your security code to your child’s leader and sign them out on the clipboard provided.
A lite snack will be provided. Please list any food allergies on the registration form, and if needed, pack an alternative snack for your child labeled with their name.
Please do not bring any toys or electronic devices to camp.
Don’t forget to put sunscreen on your child before dropping them off! Volunteers are not allowed to apply sunscreen to any camper.
ACTIVITIES
Water play will be daily for the campers; please send a towel with your camper, please clearly label it with their name.
