Luke Timm - Lead Pastor
Pastor Luke became the lead pastor of St. Matthew in June of 2026, and he and his wife Joni couldn't be more excited to call California home.
Luke's path to ministry started in youth and family ministry in Michigan, where he eventually became executive pastor over five years. From there, he and Joni God's Call to Des Moines, Iowa, where Luke served as sole pastor of a growing church — and stuck around to become senior pastor as it expanded. Five years in Michigan, a season in Iowa, and now a new chapter here in Rocklin.
Joni is an occupational therapist, and together they're raising a full, lively household. Their oldest son still lives in Iowa, their oldest daughter is a student at Iowa State, another daughter is finishing up her senior year of high school, and their triplets — two boys and a girl — are navigating the wonderfully chaotic world of 7th grade. Six kids, six personalities, and a whole lot of love (and plenty of chaos).
When Luke's not at the church, you'll probably find him outside — hiking, camping, hunting, or just about anything that gets him under open sky. He and Joni also love to travel; their passports have stamps from several countries, including multiple mission trips to Kenya that hold a special place in their hearts. Closer to home, Luke's happiest with a good book, a solid workout, and a long conversation about who God is and what it means that Jesus — the Son of God — is our Lord and Savior.

DR. Marco Mejia - WORSHIP ARTS DIRECTOR
Dr. Marco A. Mejia comes from Southern California, where he spent over 11 years teaching music in schools (K-12 and university level) and leading worship in various churches, including First Baptist Church Alhambra and John’s Lutheran Church in Orange (LCMS). He has a diverse background in music with experience in contemporary/commercial and classical music. Dr. Mejia stays active in the professional music community in Los Angeles as he continues his tenure as the Conductor & Music Director for the Corona Symphony Orchestra and participates in other music director appearances and engagements. In 2023, he published his sociological research in a qualitative dissertation that investigated the learning experiences of adults in church praise bands titled “How Contemporary Worship Musicians Learn: A Study of Church Musicking.” Dr. Mejia’s Doctor of Musical Arts degree is from USC’s Thornton School of Music, where he studied Music Teaching and Learning & Sacred Music, with performance fields in voice and conducting. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Cal-Baptist University (2006) and a Master of Music Performance from Cal-State University, Fullerton (2010).
Dr. Mejia is passionate about mentoring people of all ages to develop leadership abilities, musical skills, and deepen their relationship with God through music and worship. He resides in Roseville and enjoys CrossFit, yoga, skiing, paddle boarding, and many other outdoor adventures with his dog and off-road 4runner.

Jen Casey - Family Ministry Director
Jen graduated from the University Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education. She has taught in the public school system for many years and enjoys children and helping them grow. Her real passion is sharing Jesus with children and families alike, and her role as the Family Minister Director at St. Matthew perfectly aligns her professional training with her personal passion. Jen and her family are members of St. Matthew and serve in a variety of roles throughout the church. Jen and her husband Dom, have four daughters, Cassidy (24), Camryn (22), Caitlyn (20) and Carsyn (18). Jen has been a lifelong Lutheran and a member of St. Matthew since 2012.
