Mission Trip: Native American Christian Academy
In September 2025, five couples from St. Matthew traveled to the Native American Christian Academy to serve on a work & witness trip. During their time at NACA, this team completed the entire foundation for a courtyard pergola, worked with kitchen staff, and began the final preparations for our food bank expansion.
Our main project is the courtyard pergola. We were to do the first third of the foundation footings and wood structure. The team did the first eight footings along with sanding and staining the lumber. The next day we were told the concrete had to harden for 28 days before they could be drilled. So, the team decided to do the rest of the pergola footings for the whole foundation. We had hosted two game and craft nights. Team event the last night which was the brownie ice cream bar and Over the Line baseball game in the gym. There were two rooms of donated clothes; sorted and organized. Food deliveries offloaded and stocked for local food bank. Kitchen help each day. Chapel on Wednesday when they did the Pledge of Allegiance and sang Jesus Loves Me in Navajo.
