United Worship & Picnic

We’re coming together as ONE BODY to worship, pray, praise and give thanks for His work in our church community. We will have ONE UNITED WORSHIP SERVICE all together at 10:00AM out on the lawn area immediately followed by a BBQ picnic lunch and fellowship for everyone.


*We will have a Saturday 4:30pm service that weekend (Aug 25th) at the standard time in the santuary.

Extreme Block Party


Join us this summer at St. Matthew for a series of six Wednesdays designed for maximum family fun. The Extreme Block Party is a place for you to grab a free meal and enjoy crafts, activities and games for all ages. Mark your calendars with the dates below and stay connected online (INSTAGRAM/FACEBOOK). 

Every week includes dinner, crafts for kids, volleyball, basketball, lawn games as well as these featured activities...

  • JULY 11: Bounce Houses
  • JULY 18: Illusionist (Matt Adams)

Stay & Play: This is not a drop off event. Children younger 6th grade must be accompanied by an adult. Older students can be checked in by an adult and attend on their own. High school students are encouraged to volunteer - they will have their own separate programming beginning at 7:00pm each night.


Stories & Songs: Each night will include a Gospel presentation through Bible stories and songs from the stage. Families will have the opportunity to take home all the skits & songs to lead at family gatherings and neighborhood get togethers (VBS "to-go")

Easter Egg-Stravaganza!


Our 2018 family Easter event is on Saturday March 31st from 10AM to 12PM.  We will have an egg hunt with over 5000 eggs! After the hunt, we'll open many stations outdoors and throughout the building for your family. Enjoy face painting, balloon twisters, photo booths, bounce houses, crafts, and food! 


*This is a family event, bring your kids and stay with them for the fun!  

**The Easter Eggstravaganza is designed for children 4th Grade and younger, but we will not turn anyone away!  

Operation Christmas Child

On Sunday, Oct 22nd we launched "Operation Christmas Child" as an opportunity for our church family to make a tangible difference in the lives of children in need all over the world. Your role is to fill a shoe box with gifts for a child and return it St. Matthew on or before Sunday Nov 19th. We are also asking for $9 per box to cover the shipping.

What kind of Box?
You can use the pre-printed red/green cardboard box, a standard size shoe box, or a similar sized clear plastic tub (lid/container wrapped seperately).

What goes in the box? 
- A wow item (shoes, outfit, musical instrument, stuffed animal)
- Small toys (toy cars, jump ropes, yo-yo’s)
- Non-Liquid Hygiene items (toothbrush, bar soap, comb/brush)
- School supplies (pens, pencils, crayons, markers, coloring books)
- A personal Note (a message to the child, and a photo of yourself if you wish)

*Do not include: candy, toothpaste, used or damaged items, war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.

When do we return our box?
You can bring it to St. Matthew anytime between now and Sunday November 19th. Together we will pray for these boxes at our services that weekend.

How do I pay the $9 shipping?
We have special envelopes at the drop off table in the lobby. Make your check out to St. Matthew Lutheran.

Feed My Starving Children

For the past 5 years St. Matthew has participated in the Sacramento Area Feed My Starving Children MobilePack event held at William Jessup University. We serve in 2 of the 6 shifts to assemble over 500,000 meals shipped to countries who are in the most need of this aid.
